Welcome to Ditcham
Park
Ditcham Park
stands proudly at the top of the South Downs on the border between Hampshire
and Sussex and is perfectly situated for any occasion. This elegant
Victorian manor house is set in 16 acres of grounds with sweeping lawns and
magnificent vistas that stretch to the Isle of Wight.
On the south terrace you
can enjoy the views and dramatic sunsets, whilst the south lawn is the perfect
setting for a marquee. Within the house, the Hall, Library and
Dining Room all boast original fireplaces and oak panelling, which, together
with the elegant staircase, provide a wonderful setting for that special
event.
The main
house has a very colourful and varied history. Laurence Trent Cave bought the
estate in 1887 and engaged the architect Sir Reginald Bloomfield to build
the house and also to build St. Lawrence’s Catholic Church in Petersfield. In
1940 the House was requisitioned by the Royal Navy and used as a
convalescent home for sailors. After the ward it became a boys’ prep school run by Douai Monks
and then in September 1976 Ditcham Park School was opened.
